hi! really tangibly helpful piece, altho my process looks very different — I tend to start with a moment, smth I noticed on my way to work or read on the subway or saw in a TV show. Then I write about the moment; I describe what I saw and I allow my tone to naturally develop. By the end of my first draft, I come to realize how I feel about the initial moment. Then I go back to the beginning and revise with the final realization in mind. that said, your process sounds like it rlly streamlines things + probs saves a lot of time!
I learned something new today! This essay was rich with resources and I'll be going down some rabbit holes on some of the websites you provided very soon. Thank you for this.
What a wonderful read, rich of resources I had never heard before. I particularly liked and agree with the penultimate paragraph. Thank you for being so generous with sharing your resources and tips.
Thank you for this, I have no doubt I'll be referring back to this often! As a young writer trying to avoid becoming oversaturated by the internet, this will be quite useful 🧡
Bro, this was actually SO useful! I want to get more into writing on Substack, because it seems like a great way to get better at writing and expressing my opinions. But I easily get overwhelmed by all of it and start overthinking everything 😭. So, thank you for this!
This looked perfect when searching and I was totally gonna save and like it, without realising I already liked and saved it in the past once
Gonna read again <33
Absolutely love you sharing this. Writing is lonely. Your post feels like I am talking to a guide.
